We are about to say goodbye to 2020, and let’s be honest — there isn’t the tiniest sign of nostalgia. This year was crazy, pandemic, ruthless. But it definitely taught us valuable lessons.

Plus, we can’t do anything but brag about the successes New Wave Digital achieved in 2020. :)

Read about them in the following article.

Major rebranding at the beginning of the year

In Q1 2020, we introduced our brand new website and ritzy, cosmic visual identity. Our design team (special thanks to the Creative lead — Jason) spent two months of hard work and preparations (and there are still things we want to improve).

Why did we decide to rebrand? Simply put, the digital business world is ever-changing, so do we! As much as we loved the orange, it felt a little childish at this point — we matured significantly, our focus changed, and we craved for a brand identity that reflects it.

If you visit our website: www.newavedigital.com, you’d see we haven’t used fancy fonts and multiple colours palettes. Still, massive titles to make bold statements and cool animations that relate to our innovation-centrism.

We kept our logo as we believe it’s a particularly ownable mark. Its angular shapes represent honesty, solidity and stability — company values we always try to follow. Plus, the whole rebranding was more about adding specialities and illustrating maturity than pursuing a new path.

A brand new company’s division

In Q3, we launched a brand new division of New Wave Digital, named New Wave 360 Content Solutions (NW360CS). It is solely focusing on the eCommerce industry and developing a wide range of tailor-made content solutions for it, including:

  • eCommerce design
  • eCommerce copywriting & keyword optimization
  • eCommerce content analytics, strategy, management and distribution

We believe it is more challenging than ever for e-retailers to reach their full potential without the needed expertise, technology, and strategic approach in the e-optimising.

Organized the first (of many) charity campaigns

In the fall, New Wave Digital organized the first (of many) charity campaigns, called “Kids of the digital age”.

After a quick team discussion, we ditched the idea of having a team-building this year (partly due to the pandemic situation, and partly because we wanted to help someone in need).

As a digital, innovation-oriented company, we believe that it’s essential for children in the 21st century to have early access to digital technologies. And while seeing a 4-year-old mastering the latest iPad is the new “normal”, there are some kids out there … neatly ‘hidden’ from the public eye… who have no one to ask for a tablet or laptop — stuff that is no longer considered expensive and inaccessible for the mass.

The outcome: our company equipped 16 children from Home for Children Deprived of Parental Care “Petar Dimitrov” (Parvomay village, Petrich) with brand new tablets and a couple of second-hand laptops.

NWD officially ended up the campaign on November 13 — The World Kindness Day.

Sadly, we weren’t unable to visit the kids and give them the tablets in person as the Bulgarian government announced another lockdown at the beginning of December. However, we plan to visit the children when the situation allows us and teach them some basics on digital disciplines.

The New Wave army is steadily growing

On top of all, we’re excited to share that another 31 multicultural, well-equipped ninjas (including graphic and 3D designers, analysts, project managers, front-end devs, and marketers) joined the New Wave Digital army since the end December 2019. Woop Woop!

Nevertheless, we’re always open to hearing from new, self-motivated digital experts who can help us scale the business even further. Go to our website and fill the short “WORK WITH US” form (based in the footer).

C’est la fin 🎄

Here in the last days of 2020, there’s a redeeming value even in this absurd pandemic Christmas if you look for it. Whether that’s your family or an old friend celebrating with you through this challenging time, a Youtube video of soldiers singing carols while away from their homes — Christmas reminds us all there’s always a light of hope in the dark.

Have a better year ahead! Stay safe!
